Policies for Classes, Workshops, and Events
These policies are in place to make sure all participants have an enjoyable experience. If you have questions, please ask prior to registering for a class or event. Your registration implies that you have reviewed and agree to the policies below. Please note the words "event" and "class" are used generically in this document and these policies are intended to apply to ALL situations that resemble a class, workshop, or event.
CANCELLATION POLICY - GENERAL:
If you are unable to attend a class, cancellation must be made by phone at 217-732-4112. If we miss your call, leave a message indicating your wish to cancel. We can not accept cancellations via text, email, or IM.
- A full refund will be issued if you cancel at least 3 calendar days prior to class start.
- Store credit will be issued if you cancel within 3 calendar days but at least 24 hours prior to class start time.
- Cancellation with less than 24-hour notice or failure to attend the class will result in forfeiture of your registration fee.
If WE cancel a class or event for any reason, a full refund will be issued.
CANCELLATION POLICY - SPECIAL EVENTS:
Some events require cancellation policies that differ from the above due to up-front costs or planning requirements. Examples include but are not limited to: Bus trips; nationally-recognized or specially-qualified instructors; instructor travel considerations; special equipment requirements; and more. Such events may have unique cancellation policies. When cancellation policies are specified in the class or event description, those policies supersede the General Cancellation Policy outlined above.
CLASS POLICIES:
- Only instructors and registered attendees may be present in the event space during classes.
- All classes must be registered and paid for in advance to reserve your spot.
- Unless otherwise noted in the class description, registration fees include instruction only. Supplies and materials may be extra and we'll do our best to estimate the cost in the description.
- A supply list will be provided upon registration. Please come prepared with all required materials and don't forget basic sewing notions such as scissors, seam ripper, pins, etc.
- Out of respect for designers and copyright laws, all students must have an original pattern unless written permission has been granted by the designer. Copied patterns are not allowed.
- If your class requires you to bring a sewing machine, it is assumed that your machine is in good working order and that you know how to operate it. (New machine owner classes are the exception.)
- Classes will start on time. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so you can be set up and settled before the class begins.
- We understand you shop at other places, but please respect our shop and refrain from endorsing our competitors during our classes and events.
- We reserve the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment, inclement weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. In the event that we cancel a class or event, a refund will be issued.
- Unless otherwise specified, students must be 18 years old to register.
