Indigo Quilt Studio is a growing business in Lincoln, Illinois that offers retail fabric sales, quilting services, longarm sales/rental, and (COMING SOON!) quilting and sewing classes. We're looking for a permanent, part-time person to help with a wide variety of tasks and projects. You must be able to work 3-4 days/week, Monday - Saturday, including occasional evenings.

  • Help customers pick out the fabrics, notions, and thread they need to bring their project ideas to life. Share product knowledge and recommend tools and techniques to help them accomplish their goals.

  • Design, create, and maintain eye-catching displays to highlight new fabric collections and other products.
  • Process online orders, including cutting fabric, packaging, and shipping.
  • Cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, straightening, changing lightbulbs, and everything else it takes to give our customers a positive shopping experience.
  • Oh--and occasionally, we get to sew!

  • Climbing and descending stairs is required to retrieve items from basement storage.
  • We are regularly on our feet for several hours at a time without a break.

  • Friendly, easy-going, a great listener, has a positive attitude, and smiles often.
  • A Jack- or Jill-of-all-trades with a variety of hobbies who loves learning new skills.
  • An experienced sewist or quilter who’s eager to share her love of the hobby and knows there’s more than one “right way”.
  • Attentive to details and takes pride in the quality of work he produces, but also agrees that finished is better than perfect.
  • Good at math, including fractions, decimals, and basic geometry.
  • A decent writer with strong spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
  • At ease with computers, the internet, and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest).
  • Fluent in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel OR very eager to learn.
