Longarm Rental Policies

If you have questions about these policies, please ask prior to registering for our Longarm Renter Certification Class or a Longarm Rental. Your registration indicates that you have reviewed and agree to the policies below.

  • TRAINING REQUIRED: Only those who have completed our Longarm Renter Certification Class are allowed in the longarm area. Longarms are industrial equipment. In the interest of safety, insurance, and space limitations, we can not allow untrained guests, children, or pets in the longarm area.
  • DRESS FOR SAFETY: Shoes must be worn at all times. Do not wear loose-fitting/flowing tops, clothing with strings, dangling jewelry, etc as these have the potential to become entangled in the moving parts of the machine.
  • FOOD AND BEVERAGE: Beverages with tight-fitting lids may be kept on the end tables in the longarm area. Do not set drinks on the machines or near any quilts, fabric, thread, etc. Food can not be consumed or openly stored in the longarm area. If you bring snacks or lunch, you are welcome to use our kitchenette.
  • RENTAL TIME: We have prepared the machine and reserved it exclusively for your use at the time you requested. Your rental clock begins at your scheduled appointment time and ends once you have cleared the longarm area of your belongings. Our minimum rental is 2 hours. For every 4 hours of paid rental time, we offer an off-the-clock lunch break (max 1 hour). No time is deducted if you opt NOT to take a break.
  • NOTIONS: Our rental rates include a machine needle and use of our provided thread selection. Rates do not include use of scissors, seam ripper, measuring tape, hand needles, marking tools, etc. Please bring the notions and tools you may need throughout the quilting process.
  • ASSISTANCE: Our staff is available for basic support during your quilting session. We expect that you'll need more help during your first few quilting sessions, but our goal is to reinforce your knowledge and confidence so that you can quilt independently, with limited support. Beyond those first few sessions, additional fees may apply if you continue to require significant, dedicated support.
  • SHOP HOURS: Please respect our shop's operating hours and our employees' time. We ask that you stop quilting and begin clearing the area at least 20 minutes before our scheduled closing time. If your quilt is not yet finished, you can schedule another rental session.
  • MACHINE CARE: Rental customers are responsible for treating the equipment with care. Machine damage caused by inappropriate use, unauthorized materials, or customer negligence may incur a repair fee.
  • INJURIES: We are not responsible for injuries resulting from the use of our machines.
