Longarm Rental Certification Course
The goal of this hands-on class is to give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to quilt on our APQS longarm quilting machines. During the class, you'll quilt your own small quilt from start to finish.
What we'll cover:
- Loading your quilt on the frame
- Threading the machine
- Thread, fabric, and batting choices
- Adjusting thread tension
- Quilting with paper pantographs
- Freemotion quilting
(We will NOT cover computerized quilting or quilting with rulers.)
- A quilt top that measures at least 45in x 50in but no larger than 55in x 65in. Keep in mind this is PRACTICE--not the time to work on a family heirloom! Your practice quilt should allow you the freedom to experiment without any expectations for the outcome. They often make delightful doggy beds!
- Backing fabric that's at least 8 inches wider and 8 inches longer than your quilt top.
- Batting at least 8 inches wider and 8 inches longer than your quilt top.
