Collage Quilting: Sewing Machine by Laura Heine
Class Description: A Laura Heine collage quilt is all about playing with fabric. You will create your quilt using color, fabric patterns and designs, and many other forms of creativity. Linda Lambert will be our guide as we create a fabric collage using Laura Heine's "Sewing Machine" pattern (from Teeny Tiny Pattern Group #5). A fabric kit will be available for purchase and/or you can bring fabrics from your stash. (PLEASE NOTE that our kitted fabrics will not be exactly the same as those in the picture!) Learn Laura Heine’s techniques to successfully create, secure, and quilt your work of art!

Course Goals: You will learn the Laura Heine Collage Quilting process and complete your design layout by the end of class. Suggestions on quilting and finishing will be shared in the class. (Sewing machine is not needed for this class.)
Below are the tools and supplies you'll need to create your collage quilt. Most of these items can also be used to create future collage quilts and other projects. - "Sewing Machine" Pattern by Laura Heine, 16in x 20in (One of 3 patterns in Teeny Tiny Collage Pattern Group #5)
- Karen Kay Buckley medium serrated edge scissors (blue handles)
- 12" wide Steam-A-Seam 2 (No substitutes!), 3 yards
- Pattern Ease foundation, 3/4 yard
- Silicone applique fusing mat (at least 17in x 24in)
- Applique pressing sheet
- Rotary cutter and cutting mat
- #2 pencil
