Longarm Rental Certification Course

The goal of this hands-on class is to give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to quilt your own projects using our state-of-the-art equipment. Upon completion, you will be able to reserve time and quilt your own projects on our APQS longarm quilting machines. We limit these classes to 1 or 2 students so you'll have plenty of

What we'll cover:
- Loading your quilt on the frame
- Thread, fabric, and batting choices
- Adjusting thread tension
- Quilting with paper pantographs
- Freemotion quilting
(This class does not cover computerized quilting or quilting with rulers.)

What to bring:
- A quilt top that's at least 44 x 50 but no larger than 60 x 70. Keep in mind this is PRACTICE--not the time to work on a family heirloom! Your practice quilt should allow you the freedom to experiment without any expectations for the outcome. They often make delightful doggy beds!
- Backing fabric that's at least 8 inches wider and 8 inches longer than your quilt top.
- Batting at least 8 inches wider and 8 inches longer than your quilt top.
- Pen/paper to take notes.
- A drink (WITH LID) and snack, if desired. We will not break for lunch.

On the day of your class:
- Wear comfortable shoes! We'll be on our feet most of the time.
- Have your backing fabric and batting ready in advance. We won't have time during class to shop for backing or cut batting.
- We will start on time so plan to arrive a bit early to get settled. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we'll reschedule.
- Don't be surprised if the sign on the door says CLOSED. The retail shop may not be open, but the door will be unlocked at least 15 minutes prior to class, so come on in!

CANCELLATION POLICY:
You must cancel at least 3 calendar days before your class for a full refund. We only accept cancellations by phone at (217)732-4112.
